New backup preventer roof drain in IGOM CE is one of the
best means of connecting a roof systems for rain water pipes
onto flat roofs, gutters of various pitch, compluvia of
industrial sheds and industrial buildings. It is particularly
suitable for application with all kinds bituminous membranes
APP SBS and spread bitumen. The units consists of a slightly
conical cylinder with a wide base giving an ample anchorage
to its ribbed surface for the membrane. The conical cylinder
is fitted with one or two round flanges which, when pushed
solidly home into the pipe, ensure that there is no backing
up of the water as these form a perfect seal with the inner
surface of the pipe itself.
This therefore avoids also the passage of water vapour and
water backing up into the insulation materials or under
the waterproofing membranes causing serious damage.
The unit is made out of IGOM synthetic rubber which has
excellent physical and chemical characteristics and can
fulfil all the elastic characteristics required of such
an article. The especially formulated IGOM has extremely
high resistance to breakdown by sunlight, ozone, and other
chemical or atmospheric agents. The unit can be used in
a wide range of temperatures giving high flexibility in
the low temperature range as well as stability in time thanks
to its excellent mechanical characteristics. Thanks to their
high quality the materials used will ensure perfect performance
through the years.
These roof drains guarantee an increase of 45% of the discharge
capacity over those having the entrance and the stem pipe
of the same diameter. These roof drains can be fitted before
the drain pipes application. A leaf/gravel guard can be
fitted into the conical recess thus ensuring that the roof
drain will function at the maximum of capacity of the drainpipes
themselves. The leaf/gravel guard has a diameter at its
base 200 mm. and 180 at its top; it is fitted to a toothed
ring which has 3 steps thus
assuring good anchorage and height adjustment should the
thickness of the waterproofing vary.
